38 Weeks and Almost There!

So now for a pregnancy update!

I went in for an appointment this morning and my doctor checked me: 1 1/2 cm dilated and 70% effaced.
She said the baby is VERY low which is a good thing!  No breech babies this time please!

My doctor thinks I will go into labor by the end of this week, considering I have progressed and she said my cervix looks perfect and my uterus is active.  All I know is that only God knows, but I hope she is right!

Contractions: only Braxton Hicks and very strong ones pretty much all day today.
Size of baby:  Over 7lbs according to an ultrasound done last week!
My weight gain: around 31 pounds (exactly how much I gained with Kay)
Pregnancy cravings:  Lime water at all times

How I am feeling?:
-I have this horrible nerve pain along the left side of my back when I sit down... I had it with Kay in the last trimester and it came back to haunt me this time too.
-My hands and feet are swollen and I haven't worn my wedding ring in way too long!
-Not sleeping well at all... my mind just races at night! not to mention at least 3 bathroom breaks!
-Nesting like crazy and trying to make sure everything is ready!

Our birth plan is to have a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), and unmedicated, meaning no epidural.  We took Bradley Method classes when we were pregnant with Kay and learned a TON of information about the advantages of natural birth and birth in general.  We didn't get to use it though because Kay flipped breech when I was 38 weeks (reason for c-section), but we intend to use what we learned this time around.
It will be more difficult to labor naturally because I will be hooked up to monitors continuously and just monitored more than usual because of the VBAC, but I'm praying it won't hold me back!

Am I against epidurals? No.  Will I agree to an epidural during labor? Only if my doctor thinks it will increase my chances for VBAC.

So that is all I have for now!

We had a great Mother's Day yesterday and here are a few pictures we got:

Sharing a Mother's Day special smoothie for breakfast : )

Ready to go to church where they catered fajitas for the fellowship meal to give the moms a break from cooking!

Just think next Mother's Day I will have 2 baby girls! I can't wait : )
